Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare patients for treatment by taking medical histories and vital signs
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage inventory ordering and supply organization for clinical efficiency
- Delieve patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Ensure operatory cleanliness and infection control standards are met
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification and Arizona dental radiography permit
