Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments according to OSHA protocols
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument handling and suction management
- Take accurate dental X-rays and maintain digital patient records
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies to ensure seamless operations
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow efficiently
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information (HIPAA compliance)
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience
- Proficiency with digital radiography (X-rays) and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with ability to put patients at ease
- CPR certification and BLS certification must be current
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings
- Valid Florida dental radiography permit
