Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatment protocols
- Perform vital sign monitoring, EKGs, and basic laboratory testing
- Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision
- Manage electronic health records and maintain accurate patient documentation
- Coordinate patient flow and prepare examination rooms for efficient clinical operations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based clinical experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills required
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced clinical environments
