Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for accurate billing
- Resolve claim denials and appeals with documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Collaborate with clinical teams for charge entry accuracy
- Stay updated on coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/ambulatory setting
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials preferred
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with claim scrubbers and denial analysis tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
