Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards for accurate billing
- Resolve billing discrepancies through patient and payer communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement rules
- Exceptional attention to detail with numerical accuracy
