Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
