Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit and track electronic claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Manage denied/rejected claims appeals process within 48-hour response window
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Analyze aging reports to optimize cash flow and reduce A/R days
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory care setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, Centricity, or NextGen EHR platforms
- Proven track record of reducing claim denials by 20%+
