Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and HIPAA regulations
- Operate pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) and automated dispensing systems
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-volume settings
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy software systems
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed
