Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications according to prescription orders
- Manage prescription processing workflow and insurance verification
- Provide medication counseling and patient education
- Maintain inventory control and compounding assistance
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical services and immunizations
- Operate pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
