Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort focus
- Process, label, and transport specimens following CLIA and OSHA protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Ensure sterile equipment and supplies are readily available
- Provide patient education on blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and infection control
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology preferred
