Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections adhering to OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Process, label, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for analysis
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Collaborate with nursing staff and laboratory team
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ohio Phlebotomy license (if required)
