Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain equipment calibration
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff for diagnostic testing coordination
- Implement infection control protocols and safety standards
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years' clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in LIS (Laboratory Information Systems)
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology preferred
