Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens following strict HIPAA and OSHA protocols
- Verify patient identities and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Collaborate with laboratory teams for efficient sample processing
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked phlebotomy station
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider
- Proficiency in LIS and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Attention to detail with specimen handling and documentation
