Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Greet patients warmly, verify their identities, and explain blood draw procedures to reduce anxiety.
- Collect, label, and transport biological specimens to the laboratory for testing.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and laboratory safety regulations.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and laboratory information systems.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient flow and care.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
