Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Ensure proper patient identification, labeling, and processing of specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Assist in patient registration and provide exceptional customer service during the collection process.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines and HIPAA policies.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technologist certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for travel between sites.
