Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical environments and equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments with meticulous attention to detail
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical activities accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies efficiently
- Adhere to strict OSHA and hospital safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Expertise in orthopedic, general, and cardiovascular procedures
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and instrument management
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
