Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory levels and restock operating rooms with critical supplies
- Document surgical cases accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols
- Train junior staff on surgical technology best practices
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and equipment maintenance
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
