Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patients in the emergency department using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Perform rapid head-to-toe assessments and determine immediate medical needs
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Provide education to patients and families regarding triage processes
- Monitor and manage patient flow during high-volume periods
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong knowledge of ESI protocols and emergency care standards
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
