Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgeries
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning and draping
- Operate surgical equipment including cameras, lights, and sterilization systems
- Document procedure details and maintain accurate surgical logs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during fast-paced procedures
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and surgical terminology
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends/on-call
