Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine medical urgency and care priority
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to develop appropriate treatment plans
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care or emergency interventions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and emergency department protocols
- Monitor patient flow and adjust triage protocols during peak hours
- Educate patients on healthcare resources and preventive measures
Qualifications
- Current Kentucky RN license with unrestricted practice
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or triage experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Proficient in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to maintain composure during high-stress situations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
