Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year technology roadmaps aligned with market disruption forecasts
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-gen solutions (quantum algorithms, neuromorphic AI, etc.)
- Conduct horizon-scanning research to identify emerging tech with trillion-dollar potential
- Secure strategic partnerships with DARPA, NASA, and top academic research institutions
- Translate technical innovation into investor-ready business cases with 50+ pipeline management
- Present strategic vision to C-suite and board members quarterly with data-driven impact modeling
Qualifications
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or related field with 8+ years R&D leadership
- Proven track record launching at least two breakthrough technologies from concept to market
- Deep expertise in emerging tech: quantum machine learning, synthetic biology, or climate tech
- Portfolio of published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier-1 journals
- Experience securing $5M+ in government grants (SBIR, NSF, etc.)
- Exceptional communication skills translating complex concepts for diverse stakeholders
- Active clearance or eligibility for US government security programs
