Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate personal hygiene support, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, while respecting the client's dignity.
- Medication Management: Assist clients with daily medication reminders and ensure proper administration under the guidance of a registered nurse.
- Companionship: Foster a warm, engaging environment through conversation, recreational activities, and emotional support.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and clean living environment by assisting with light cleaning, laundry, and errands.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and local activities.
- Documentation: Accurately document daily logs, incidents, and care plans to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- CNA or HHA Certification: Preferred; equivalent experience in caregiving is considered.
- Background Check: Must pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen actively.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; must be physically capable of assisting clients.
- Empathy & Patience: A genuine passion for helping seniors and a calm, patient demeanor are essential.
- First Aid/CPR: Current certification is highly desirable.
