Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist with examinations, procedures, and patient treatments efficiently and accurately.
- Radiography: Perform intraoral and extraoral dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality for diagnosis.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and infection prevention to maintain a safe environment.
- Patient Management: Greet patients warmly, update medical histories, and prepare patients for treatment.
- Office Coordination: Manage appointment scheduling, process insurance claims, and maintain accurate dental records (EHR).
- Preventative Care: Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and take impressions for study models as directed.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program (CDA or RDA preferred).
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant license in Kentucky and current X-ray certification (DANB or state equivalent).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar).
