Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for high-volume accounts
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and patient financial counseling
- Optimize revenue cycle performance through data analytics and process improvements
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies proactively
- Generate monthly financial reports for department leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or large clinic setting
- Expert certification (CPC, COC, or CCS-P) required
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing systems
