Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prescription Verification: Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, including checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and store incoming pharmaceuticals, and manage inventory records efficiently.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with prescription inquiries, provide medication counseling where appropriate, and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Compounding Assistance: Assist the pharmacist in compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations as required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required (or eligibility to obtain within 6 months).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on details and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
