Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
- Utilize pharmacy automation systems for efficient workflow
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for coordinated patient care
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV medications
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Expert knowledge of prescription medications and compounding
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and error-prevention skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic IV certification preferred
