Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EHR systems
- Collaborate with lab technicians and healthcare providers for efficient workflow
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, storage, and transportation protocols
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality guidelines
- Train new staff on phlebotomy techniques and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with low complication rate
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling expertise
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations
