Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient care
- Process and transport specimens ensuring chain-of-custody compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulatory standards
- Train and mentor new phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proven expertise in pediatric and geriatric blood collection
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing automation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
