Responsibilities
- Perform precise venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient populations
- Process specimens with strict adherence to CLIA and CAP protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and sample tracking systems
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Train junior staff on phlebotomy best practices and equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and lab specialists for critical diagnostic support
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT or ASCP preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proven expertise in difficult vein access and pediatric draws
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Strong knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
