Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody protocols
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and sterile environments
- Provide patient education on procedures and ensure comfort throughout collection
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with proven low-miss rate
- Proficiency in LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends/holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent with continued education credits preferred
