Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical equipment in compliance with AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeries
- Manage instrument and supply inventory with precision and efficiency
- Implement strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and equipment usage
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical processes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Level I trauma center setting
- Expertise in complex surgical specialties including orthopedic and neuro
- Current BLS/CPR certification with ACLS preferred
- Thorough knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Strong communication skills and collaborative team mentality
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
