Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and emergency department staff
- Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation and care coordination
- Provide critical care instructions and patient education over telehealth platforms
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and resource allocation
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and Alaska State Board of Nursing standards
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 3 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EHR systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Experience with telehealth triage protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
