Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient symptoms and medical histories to determine acuity levels and prioritize care.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and triage instructions to patients and caregivers via phone or portal.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately in the EMR system.
- Manage high-volume calls with a focus on patient safety, empathy, and rapid response.
- Stay updated on clinical guidelines and hospital protocols to ensure best practices are followed.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Louisiana RN License (or compact state eligibility).
- BSN preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of acute care nursing or triage experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
