Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs as directed.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization and disinfection protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, select and arrange instruments, and ensure all materials are stocked and ready.
- Charting: Update patient records accurately and maintain the dental charting system.
- Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Licensure: Current NY State Dental Assistant license (RDA) and CPR certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in 4-handed dentistry, taking impressions, and using digital radiography equipment.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.
- Professionalism: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team-oriented atmosphere.
