Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, and supplies to ensure a sterile and safe environment.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient information during surgery.
- Handle and process surgical specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient surgical center.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical anatomy, and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights when necessary.
