Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, wheelchairs, or bathtubs using proper transfer techniques.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the nursing team.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, easy-to-digest meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light activities to reduce loneliness.
- Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record basic health metrics, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, as directed by a supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required (for home visits).
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care or a related healthcare field.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine, empathetic approach to patient care.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
