Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications on time and report any changes in health or medication reactions to the nursing team.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and light cleaning.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, recreational activities, and social outings to combat loneliness and boost mental well-being.
- Vital Signs & Documentation: Monitor and record client vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature) accurately and maintain detailed care logs as required by state regulations.
- Transportation Support: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social engagements as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, geriatric care, or a related healthcare field is highly desirable.
- License & Certification: Current, valid state licensure as a CNA or HHA; current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Driver's License: Valid Driverβs License and reliable transportation are required for client travel.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to listen and empathize with clients.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients with mobility (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
