The Role:
As a Home Health Aide, you will be the hands and heart of our care team, assisting clients with daily living activities and providing emotional support. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our clients' independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, use walkers, wheelchairs, or canes, and prevent falls.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at the scheduled times.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and report changes in the client's physical condition to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily care logs and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health, personal care, or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Licensure: Current state-issued Home Health Aide certification (if applicable in MA) and valid driver's license.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Attributes: Patience, empathy, physical stamina, and a positive attitude.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
