Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the nursing supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversation and activities to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, changing linens, and vacuuming to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, or therapy sessions.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and document client behavior, physical condition, and progress accurately in care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Illinois Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, geriatric care, or a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Health Requirements: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Background: Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
