As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in helping our clients maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, walk, or use wheelchairs and walkers.
- Medication Management: Prompt clients to take their prescribed medications at the scheduled times and report any missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, dishwashing, and preparing meals that meet specific dietary restrictions.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation and activities to reduce isolation, providing emotional support and building rapport with clients.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient care activities, vital signs, and changes in condition in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed by the care plan.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program is strongly preferred.
- Certification: Current and valid state licensure or certification as an HHA or CNA is mandatory.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for client travel.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Empathy & Patience: Demonstrated ability to interact with the elderly or disabled with compassion and patience.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the physical demands of the job.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
