Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Support: Remind clients to take their medications and report any missed doses or side effects to the nursing supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client.
- Companionship: Engage in social activities and conversation to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social outings.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure and weight as directed by the RN.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Illinois Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification is required.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license.
