Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide daily living support including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses to the nursing supervisor.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients, including meal preparation and laundry services.
- Companionship: Engage clients in social activities, conversation, and mental stimulation to improve their quality of life.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately record and report changes in a client's physical condition, mood, or behavior to the care team.
- Transportation: Assist with non-medical transportation to and from medical appointments or community outings.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Kansas State Home Health Aide (HHA) certification and a valid driver's license.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health, hospice, or long-term care is preferred but not always required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; capable of assisting with transfers and mobility.
- Compassion: A genuine, caring demeanor and a strong commitment to patient advocacy and confidentiality.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
