Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Medication Management: Provide reminders and support with medication administration as directed by the nursing team.
- Companionship: Build meaningful relationships through conversation, hobbies, and social engagement to reduce isolation.
- Household Support: Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and errands using your personal vehicle.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and report changes in client health status, mood, and behavior to supervisors.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Current California CNA or Home Health Aide (HHA) license in good standing.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain.
- Background Check: Clean criminal background and drug screen results.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients weighing up to 250 lbs with proper body mechanics.
- Reliability: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or long-term care preferred.
