Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting while maintaining their dignity.
- Medication Reminders: Prompt clients to take medications on schedule and accurately report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversation to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, bed-making, and light cleaning to ensure a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social events using your personal vehicle.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of care provided and client condition changes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Oregon Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or CNA license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care, geriatric care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid, clean driver’s license and proof of insurance are required for travel to client homes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods and assist with transfers (up to 50 lbs).
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and have a clean driving record.
