Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any missed doses or side effects to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals based on dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if required.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients, including laundry and light cleaning.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, or social events, ensuring their safety.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record basic health metrics such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse as directed by the care plan.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification or Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is preferred but we offer training for qualified candidates without certification.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification is required.
- Background Check: Must be willing and able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; ability to assist with transfers (Hoyer lift experience is a plus).
