Your Role
As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our elderly and disabled clients. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health status, and provide emotional support to ensure our patients feel safe and respected.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at the scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client, including laundry and light cleaning tasks.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Mobility Support: Assist clients with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids safely.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and submit daily care notes and incident reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or CNA is preferred but not always required.
- Licensure: Valid Oklahoma Driverβs License and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Certifications: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Oklahoma Home Health Aide certification is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; ability to assist with transfers and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a kind, patient demeanor are essential.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
