Job Overview
As a Home Health Aide, you will provide essential personal care and companionship to clients in the comfort of their own homes. You will play a vital role in helping our clients maintain their independence and dignity while receiving the high-quality care they deserve.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help clients move safely around their home and provide transportation to medical appointments or errands.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications at the scheduled times.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of the client.
- Companionship: Engage in social activities and conversation to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record basic health metrics such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight as directed by the nurse.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide or CNA program is highly preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health, nursing, or caregiving is a plus but not strictly required for compassionate candidates.
- Certification: Valid Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or CNA license.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for client transportation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions clearly.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the job.
- Compassion: A genuine, caring attitude towards the elderly and disabled population.
