Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and promptly report any adverse reactions or changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversation, hobbies, or light exercise to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain daily care logs and incident reports in compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or HHA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or personal care is a plus but not always required for enthusiastic candidates.
- Driver’s License: A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are mandatory for this role.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Compassion: A genuine, patient, and empathetic demeanor when working with the elderly or disabled population.
