Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy before claim submission.
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) and perform timely follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards.
- Generate and analyze monthly financial reports to identify revenue leakage and optimize collections.
- Update and maintain patient records in practice management software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Collaborate with coding and clinical teams to resolve claim denials.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or medical office administration.
- Certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), COC, or CIMA preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
