Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens accurately with strict adherence to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and prepare sample tubes for lab analysis
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood collection procedures
- Document patient information and specimen details in electronic health records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely sample processing
- Follow infection control standards and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture procedures
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficient in electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling
- Nevada state license (or ability to obtain immediately)
